With seventy two percent of the arab region in Asia and and twenty eight percent in Africa, and a growing population of two hundred and eighty million by the year of 2000, the Arab empire has flourished and expanded immensely. According to historians, it was in the Arab region that the first “Organized forms of Society” were established. The arab region had very fertile soil that was enriched with nutrients that would enable them to farm their agriculture, which was the main contribution to the homelands economy, and produce them in an abundance. They also raised livestock, and built up cities that would later be the centers of all their trading of goods such as cotton, sugarcane, sugar beets and sesame which were exported to other regions. Wheat, barley, rice, maize, dates and millet were the main supplements of the Arab peoples diet.
The Arab Empire is also the birthplace of three principal religions; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They had all originated in the region before later spreading throughout the world. Those who believed in their individual religions still lived in congruence, regardless of their beliefs. However in seventh century A.D the Prophet Muhammad emerged with the message of islam. His followers had scattered around the world spreading the new found faith and in time the islamic community began to grow and rapidly. Islam, thanks to its followers was able to spread all the way to areas such as Spain and the borders of China. Because of this, majority of the arabic empire were of Islam following.
The Arab Empire today is richly mixed of many diverse cultural influences and various religious groups. Even so, Islam and the Arabic language are the two essential and primary foundations of arabic culture . The Arab people spread over a vast area and expanded their empire creating new lands and increasing the arab population to today create the 21 arab countries to form the Arab league, although separated by boarders they still consider themselves one nation. The Arab nation in the twentieth century is a region in metamorphosis. Modernizing, growing and building the foundation for its own reemergence thanks to the oil flowing underneath the nations surface. Its oldest cities such as Cairo are rapidly increasing in population and expanding their civil services, transmission systems and etc. New developments are seen everywhere, as high-rise buildings replace the old markets and souks of the ancient times. A perfect example of this being arab regions such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, both of which are home to some of the worlds most praised man made developments.
Despite the Arab worlds increasing modernization, the nation is also devoted to preserving its traditions and values those of which helped build Islam and the arabic empire.
